Resumé

Statement

I graduated with honours from the Vancouver School of Art where I specialized in printmaking, 3D design & fabrication.  After art school I performed & choreographed dance works, then produced illustrations for editorial, publishing & advertising before returning to the visual fine arts in 1998.

For the last three years I have returned to painting in oils and am presently creating a series on my perennially favourite theme – archetypal animal/human figures.  I am also interested in pursuing images of flux in which formless takes on form then returns to formlessness.

I often work with drawings and paintings to develop sculptural ideas then transform them into 3D.  For many years I created durable artworks for the public realm in wood, concrete and steel as I love the idea of accessible street art.  Among my public art commissions are artworks for the City of Zhengzhou, China; the Cities of Surrey, Victoria & Kelowna, BC; the City of Amneville-les-thermes, France; & the Cities of Bremerton & Fife in Washington, USA.
