In my artwork, I have been exploring the relationship between humans and other species in 2D and 3D for many years.

The 2D works feature figures with both animal and human characteristics, some painted as though sculptural and some as though lifelike. They investigate the belief that humans are separate from and independent of nature. They also reference ancient animal/human goddess images suggesting that the dichotomy between mind and body; human and natural is a recent paradigm that replaced the previous long understanding of a more interactive relationship with other species.

Many of these works are inspired by ancient, even Neolithic artworks that are so evocative and skillful that they challenge the belief that human civilization is progressing.
